Suburban country from Catherine Bacque. Each of the EP's seven songs spotlights a different facet of Catherine's amazing talent. Kicking off with I Did, I Will, I Do, Catherine hits high gear right away with a brash, no-nonsense anthem introduced by her memorable acoustic guitar figures and featuring Tim Bovaconti's Telecaster in a take-no-prisoners appeal to the power of love.

In the second cut, Fly, we hear in Catherine's voice and lyrics the triumph of a survivor of the fickle fates of love. Virtuoso bassist Alain Caron underscores Catherine with his 6-string fretless bass in a riveting melodic duet.

Next, With You traces the longing and second thoughts of a new love affair.

On Say That You Want Me, Catherine is joined by Bob Taillefer on pedal steel. The song rocks out on the power of love without strings attached.

This special release of Letting Go features two bonus tracks: When I Found You, a soaring story of self-discovery and return; and Message to You, about breakup by cellphone, featuring John Johnson on soprano sax, and fellow songwriters Mark Cassidy and Dan McLean Jr. on backing vocals.

The EP wraps up with You're Still Mine, a song of steadfastness and faithfulness in the face of life's struggles and shortcomings, aimed as much at your children as your lover.

Letting Go is 100 per cent Canadian content.
